GATE 2013 · General Aptitude · Percentage · medium

Answer: Temperature on Thursday = 46 degrees C. Answer: C.

  1. Write sums for both windows: Sum(Mon-Wed) = 41 * 3 = 123. Sum(Tue-Thu) = 43 * 3 = 129.
  2. Find T_Thu - T_Mon by subtracting sums: 129 - 123 = 6, so T_Thu - T_Mon = 6.
  3. Apply the 15% condition: Substituting: 1.15 * T_Mon - T_Mon = 6, so 0.15 * T_Mon = 6, giving T_Mon = 40.
  4. Compute T_Thu: T_Thu = 40 + 6 = 46 degrees C.
