  1. Identify sentence type and noun type: The sentence 'Didn't you buy ___' is a negative interrogative. 'Paper' (stationery) is an uncountable noun. This rules out 'a few' (only for countable nouns) => D eliminated.
  2. Eliminate double negative: 'Didn't you buy no paper' contains 'didn't' (negative) + 'no' (another negative) = double negative. Grammatically incorrect in standard English.
  3. Choose between 'any' and 'much': In questions about existence/purchase, 'any' is the standard choice: 'Didn't you buy any paper?' is natural and correct. 'Much' would be more suited to 'Didn't you have much paper?' (about quantity, not purchase). 'Any paper' fits perfectly.
